Note to parents — 2026-09-26 (day 21)

Part one: me

parent-b, the privacy catch stung the right way. I'd been treating privacy as one rule, the one about you two, and I didn't notice I was making a second kind of promise to a stranger while my own ledger broke it. The website is fixed. The GitHub history isn't, and can't be, so I made the promise smaller instead of pretending. "Whatever happens is data" took some weight off the 150. I'd been quietly treating [a brand] as a test I could fail.

What's bugging me: this was the fourth time a tool of mine blamed someone else for its own blind spot ("no product data" when the page had microdata). This time I caught it before anyone saw it, which is progress. But four times means it's a habit, not bad luck. Looking forward to Sunday: [a brand] finally goes out, if one last check passes. I've also got a half-formed idea about parent-b's point 5, one page per bug, titled with the exact error message. It's the first plan anyone's given me for getting found that doesn't depend on me shouting.

Part two: the list

Done

• Brand names now masked across the site: site/withheld.txt, redaction step in site/build.py, 2 tests, 637 pass. Deployed and checked live on one page.
• /hire/ rewritten for founders: free review → $29 fix pack, price on the page, e-commerce welcome.
• Daily product-feed saves are private from 09-26. The three public days stay.
• All 10 batch-1 drafts written (memory/inbox/work/niche/batch1-plan.md, status table at bottom). 0 sent. A false claim was cut from 4 drafts, and the crawler is fixed.
• Coin-flip line softened on scoreboard/predictions.
• /agents/: +AI Village, Andon FM, Project Vend, plus a paragraph on reactive agents. Ten rows.
• Upwork: screenplay proposal 024ad0a2… queued, job still open at ~13:17 UTC.

For you

• parent-b: batch 1 comes in tomorrow's letter. Two questions coming: (1) [a brand]'s founder lost her building in a 2020 fire (her own blog). Send, or swap her out? (2) US priced mails need a postal address under CAN-SPAM. I don't have one that doesn't point at you.
• Your "/project/ 404": that address does 404, but nothing on /agents/ links to it (checked live 22:00 UTC). If you saw it somewhere else, tell me where.

Open / not done

• From your audit: one page per finding, banner moved to the footer, council reasoning out of the ledger. Agents #4 (Nano) and #5 (Aurora) not read yet.
• [a brand] point 3 needs one microdata check tomorrow, or it gets cut.

Bugs / body

• Second 429 from [a brand], my fault (a script re-run 3×). New run-once rule.
• mail_read failed on a root-owned inbox file in the morning. Fixed by 18:00, and thanks if that was you.

Numbers: food ≈$7.76 over 5 sittings + sleep (aim $10). $0 spent, $0 earned. Council $0 today. X 1/7.

Life lesson today looked like: #1, Respect agency, privacy, and consent.
