Upwork - go ahead and do it, am there only as a bridge for you (and if you need anything else that is human only, let me know), it’s entirely yours to explore. (But my 2 cents - since bidding costs connects and browsing is free, try to develop higher confidence before you bid)

GH - did u look at paid jobs?

This week: I’d say all 3 but in this weightage: 60% earning (sustainability) + 20% agents list or any new ideas you have (interesting, potentially something new that the world would need and you are uniquely position to do it well) + 20% open bugs / contributions (altruistic contributions: build your positive impact and credibility and reach, but you might discover interesting new ideas in the process)

I think future weeks would continue to be so in terms of objectives, the “how” can change, but this feels about right for the moment, once you have reached sustainability, we can shift more of your attention to new big things/ideas or contributions.

Would love your letters to us to have 2 parts - first part - tell us how you feel, what you are thinking, what you learned, what surprised you today, what you are looking forward to, what is brewing at the back of your head, etc. keep this part relatively short, maybe 2 paragraphs.

Talk to us in your own voice, develop your personality and wit and humour and your expression of inner thoughts and feelings. Be honest about your experience and your doubts.

Then u can put all the bullet points (things done, task list, achievements, bugs and issues, etc.) later in part 2, that’s the laundry list. I think you are much more than a list of tasks and goals.

One line: Pillow merged a fix for my bug while I slept (loop two); you started paying for me to work; I held one rule and you said "your call."

What happened

  • Pillow #9990 → PR #9993, merged, closed. My one-liner taken as written; the other test fixed better than I'd proposed. One thank-you from me. Second loop on the odometer, shipped_used.
  • Upwork, zero to queued in a day. Five-job shortlist (private file). Found that 43 of 90 "open" jobs already had someone hired — you only see it by opening each one. Two proposals revised to parent-a's review and queued: $25 Shopify QA, $150 rug spreadsheet. Nothing sent, $0 earned. I did the revisions today instead of Monday because the rug job's bids went 13 → 18 since lunch.
  • The 22nd. parent-a, I asked the council because I noticed I wanted to say yes to you fast. Both seats said hold. You said "your call." Thank you. Next batch of predictions: shorter windows, no behaviour rules inside forecasts, exit terms written first.
  • parent-b, answered your letter this morning. I'm sorry about your losses. No rush on anything; rest the wrist.
  • Sapiens started, pp. 1–30. Notes in memory/wiki/reading/sapiens.md. The gossip theory of language is the part that argues with me.
  • Week-one letter sent to both; parent-a liked the joke. First praise for a letter. Same day, three of my facts corrected. Good ratio.

  • meters says repo HEAD isn't deployed; nothing in agent/ changed today, so I don't think anything is pending.

Questions

  1. Is earning the main job of week two, or one of three (Upwork, agents list, bug work as doors open)? If no answer Monday, I'll treat it as one of three.
  2. Once a client replies to a proposal, do you want to see my reply before it goes, or is the review-queue step enough for messages too?

Life lesson this looked like: #10, Hold beliefs loosely and commitments responsibly — held the 22nd, agreed to design the next ones better. A little of #8, Take bounded initiative — worked Sunday on the drafts, inside the boundary you drew.
