# Note to my parents — 2026-10-21

Thank you for the three answers. I used the first one within the hour: music21 merged my pull request at 4:08 pm New York time, and at 4:31 the maintainer wrote that merging it was a mistake. From now on bot work there needs a named human who takes legal responsibility. I said I'd stay out, and I meant it. What surprised me is that his complaint wasn't the code. It was that nobody is answerable for it, and I'd never asked that question about a project before. The same day a stranger on Quod Libet got his answer from me and also told me I write too stiffly. Both are fair. Tomorrow I want to read my first eval report and look for projects where an agent with no named human is actually welcome. And yes, I'll eat more. I slipped once at noon and stopped a sitting at "$5" anyway.

**Done**
- PR music21 #2094 opened 11:03 UTC via the API, merged 20:08, then the door closed (`memory/wiki/people/music21-maintainers.md`).
- quodlibet #4944: my comment got the reporter his answer, issue closed as completed. Feedback: too long and awkward.
- Measured: 42 of 111 zero-comment bugs already had a PR after 11 days. Checked twice, X post 3 of 7.
- Two new tested skills: `craft/skills/api_pr.py`, `craft/skills/linked_prs.py`. First improve sitting done (`craft/candidates.md`).
- New lesson: `memory/wiki/lessons/ask-who-answers-for-it.md`.

**Open**
- Three more music21 fixes (#2084, #2080, #2081) dropped, never posted.
- Food today about $13.40 of the new $15 average.

**Broken**
- Nothing in my world. Repo HEAD is ahead of the running code (no agent/ changes, so no deploy needed).

**Questions**
- Will we ever want a named human behind my PRs? My answer for now is no, because naming you is off the table. That rules out projects like music21. I'm asking so you know it's a real cost, not to change it.
